American History Movies

Does anyone know of any good American History movies that actually give an accurate account of what happened?

I don't think that is possible. One, movies are made by the Hollywood type people. Two, they always rewrite history to fit their agenda.Three, history is written by the victors not the truth tellers. So I doubt there will ever be any truly accurate or honest movies about American history especially when it comes to the wars we have fought.

Since I wrote the original post I have watched Gods and Generals and Gettysburg, both about the Civil War. From what I have heard Gods and Generals is extremely accurate. I found the movie was excellent; it exalted Christianity and the godly character of many of the men, particularly Thomas Jackson.

I am interesting in finding a good movie about the American Revolution and those times. I guess if there are not any then my children and others will have to make them. I have come to the point where I see so many needs in society (like a lack of good movies) and know that I need to get busy and stop waiting for someone else to do it. If we all do our part then we will see changes. If we sit and curse the darkness then we will accomplish nothing except exalting our own self righteousness and ego.
